Welcome to Pack Monkey
Here it is, the first post on my travel blog. Pack Monkey is new and lean, nothing more than the seed of an idea. But this monkey will grow and evolve, in ways that I cannot begin to outline here and now. All I can say for sure is it will be a place for writing and photos, a place to check in and stay in touch, a place to talk out loud about the good and the bad.
The trip starts on Feb. 1, 2007, with a one-way ticket that will skip me from New York City to Sydney, Australia. The flight arrives at noon on Feb. 3. A shift in lifestyle and a shift in time all rolled into one. Come back in '07 and follow along.

I see that you are already making the transition out of NYT mentally ("A shift in lifestlye and a shift" -- kudos. Now you can spell lifestyle any damn way you want.

Don't be afraid to swing to the Atlantic side. This country is supposed to have a halfway decent film scene...
